HISTORY OF RUNDĀLE WATERMILL
Rundāle manor, much like many other manors in Latvia, boasted extensive agricultural activity, an important part of which was the manor mill. The Rundāle manor watermill and windmill, built at the end of the 18th century, were located at the current centre of Pilsrundāle. The Rundāle watermill dam was built on River Īslīce.
Over time Rundāle watermill and the related companies have had various names: Rundāle watermill, Rundāle manor mill, Rundāle sudmalas, Pilsrundāle watermill, Lielrundāle watermill, Sudmalu pub watermill, Bergmanis’ mill, N/U “Bergmanis Voldemārs, labības dzirnavas un vilnas apstrādāšana”, I/U “Rundāles dzirnavas un galdniecība”, SIA “Rundāles dzirnavas”.
